Dr Leigh Jarvis

Leigh Jarvis  After completing an Electronic Engineering Degree, Dr Jarvis focused his research on the field of superconductivity in the physics department at the University of Natal. The beauty of this macroscopic quantum mechanical phenomenon and its contribution to the development of modern materials science was a perfect fit to his interest in engineering and physics.

Superconductivity – absolute ZERO electrical resistance: an interesting research project Dr Jarvis is steering is the design and construction of a superconducting series core reactor. This project has UK and industrial support.

Nano-Technology: Dr Jarvis has a patent for a unique fabrication technique in producing nano-carbon material, and currently fabricates graphene (a plane of carbon atoms one atom thick) for fuel cells and supercapacitors applications. These projects all have industrial links and support.
