Dr Pillay Carpanen is currently a lecturer in the Electrical Engineering programme. He received his BEng (Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Mauritius, his MScEng and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of KZN, South Africa.

He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers IEEE and also a member the IEEE Power Engineering Society.
